The transformation of a car repair shop into a music school is the result of a process that could be described as organic, where the new blends with the old, without any real distinction. The use of raw, sourced, qualitative materials and sober, sustainable technology seems to be a coherent choice, both for the building's original purpose and for the school's acoustic requirements. The technical elements and furnishings are envisaged as a built stratum equal to the others, whose materiality does not have to be hidden or covered up. This option offers more direct comprehensibility and facilitates the possibility of future modifications. The object delivered thus takes the form of a sensitive, aesthetic and functional whole; a flexible tool to be taken in hand by those who use it.
